Unless you have a proclivity for etymology you probably missed the fact
that “Bellevue” comes from French for Beautiful View. That is precisely
what fans had from the heights of the stadium stands as Adam “Shrive
Daddy” Shriver and Brian “Spider Man” Talcott anchored a defensive wall
that snuffed every Chieftain attack preserving their second shutout of
the season. With several veteran players on the side line, some of the
Mustangs’ younger talent stepped up. J. “Cobb” Landolt notched his
first goal with some razzle dazzle. The always polite Cam “thankya
maam” Kellner had his first hat trick. Filling in on the back line,
Isaac “smiley” Beber slipped through to knock in two goals to augment
his great defensive efforts. Kev “ In” Dickey had his first goal when
the always crafty JP ( the “J” stands for Jay as in Bluejay) Pulverenti
pulled the ol’ hidden player trick and slipped in behind the defense
after hiding behind the linesman to get a well placed ball form his
neighbor Hunter Gorby. Then JP left the ball at the top of the 6 yard
box for Kev. I am pretty sure some other guys scored but those notes ran
in an illegible river of ink on the soaked scorecard due to the monsoon
like rains. Taylor “Randy” Seeley continues to improve. His pregame
glare at the Chieftain captains forced another unwise choice by an
unnerved opponent. The Bell-East players mistakenly chose to defend the
lucky west goal the first half, giving them no chance of a comeback in
the second half. The Stangs advance to the Elite Eight. Coach Hoover
reported back in a wire from Central America that he has located several
top notch prospects and a great little secluded beach on the Pacific
side that serves a guacamole and bean dip that will keep him busy on the
flight home.
